We had a wonderful day yesterday in Jinja with 4 of our translators. Even though the day consisted of a total of 7 hours (3 hours there, 4 hours back) in our bus due to traffic, and only 4 hours in Jinja, we still made every moment count, having very interesting and entertaining discussions with our brilliant Ugandan friends!
In Jinja, we went on a boat trip to the source of the Nile, witnessing a huge variety of beautiful birds, giant monitor lizards, otters and monkeys! We then ate dinner together before returning to the Hotel.
It was a day of firsts for our Ugandan friends as most had never stayed in a hotel and, although they had visited Jinja, they had never done our boat trip. Everyone had a fantastic day and it was lovely to give something back to some of the Ugandan team who have given up so much of their time and energy to help us.
